L’ article INJURY PATTERN OF THE FLASH-BALL, A LESS-LETHAL WEAPON USED FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT: REPORT OF TWO CASES AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE analitza el cas de dos pacients hospitalitzats després d’ haver rebut el tret d’ una pilota de goma (flashball). Els projectils eren del tipus “buck-shot”, que contenen 9 boles cada un. El primer dels dos es va recuperar al cap de poques hores, però el segon va patir greus contusions cardíaques i pulmonars. La policia del lloc, Losanna (Suïssa) va abolir l’ ús d’ aquesta arma fins que no en fos aclarida la seva perillositat.
